Reed Dixon-   Linear abstraction

The exhibit runs through June 30, 2009.

Dixon, a native of Pittsburg, PA was educated at the Art Institute ofPittsburgh, class of 1964. Formerly an illustrator for Hallmark Cardsand a Senior Advertising Designer for Armstrong World Industries,Reed is well known for his non-traditional style and color pallet, andfor his unusual subject matter.

His work has been chosen for the Society of Illustrators show in NewYork City and for the Communication Arts Illustration Annual. Reedhas exhibited his work widely throughout the Eastern US, and hascontributed numerous illustrations to magazines and children books.

In 1977 he started Dixon Graphics, and advertising design and finearts studio. Dixon also co-founded the nationally renowned Mt. Gretna Outdoor Art Show in 1975 and served as its chairman while it developed into a major summer event.

Reed lives in Lititz, PA with his wife Kathi who owns Kermes Interior Design and their cat Razzie. Reed now paints in his new studio somewhere in the back yard.
